FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions)
Why am I unable to access the site using my Username and Password?
Answer: Please check that you have entered your username and password correctly. The Username is not case sensitive but the password is. Check to see that you have not got your Cap Lock facility switched on. Please check that your yearly account has not expired by contacting 01664 567557 and ask for an update on your status.

Why am I not able to access the video or animation clips on my computer?
Answer: The video and animation clips are in the Adobe Flash format. Please check that you have the appropriate software loaded on your computer to access these files. The software is free and can be downloaded at:  Adobe Flash http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/download/download.cgi?P1_Prod_Version=ShockwaveFlash

Please note that if you are accessing the Academy on computers at your place of work, which do not have this software loaded, you will need to ask your IT department to download the players for you and, to give you access to them.

Why does it take a long time to download the video clips and animation?
The speed of download will depend on the speed of your internet connection and the time of day in some instances. If you are using a broadband connection of 2Mb or more your download time should be no more than a few seconds for most of the multimedia material. The higher the connection speed the better.

If you are trying to download the material on an dial up 56k modem then you should contact us on 01664 567557 to discuss how we might help; the best solution though is to upgrade to broadband.

Sometimes during the day, if internet traffic is heavy, your provider may reduce the speed of your broadband in order to share more of the available bandwidth with other users. If you wish to check the speed of your connection at any time try using this free speed checker: http://www.broadbandspeedchecker.co.uk/

I have lost my login details. What can I do?
When you reach the login section there is a section asking if you have lost your username or password and a button which says, 'Yes, help me log in' Click this button and you will be asked to provide the e-mail address you used when you registered in the Academy. Provide your e-mail address and your username and password will be sent to you. If you still have difficulties then e-mail us at: techsupport@efta-academy.org Remember to include your Name, Company Name and a contact telephone number, without these we cannot help you.

I cannot read or print the PDF notes at the end of each Learning Module, what can I do?
Do you have Adobe Reader installed on your computer? You need this to read PDF files. It can be downloaded for free from: http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html Once again if you are on a company network machine you must ask permission of your IT manager.

Also, is your printer switched on and on-line? If you have access to more than one printer from your computer have you selected the correct one to print the document. Have you had problems printing other documents? if so check that you do not have queued documents.
