Who are we?

We were founded in 1972 by a group of printers to act as the unified voice of the flexo printing industry and to share information on new developments in quality and technology.

The Association has over 250 members and has established an active programme of training seminars, conferences and exhibitions to further the needs of its membership.

The Association is run on an interactive basis by an elected board of directors drawn from all aspects of the membership; which is made up of printers, designers, repro houses, plate-makers, machinery suppliers, ink manufacturers and technology companies.

A Technical Committee also drawn from the membership looks at the newer technologies coming into the industry; it also prepares technical papers for the membership through it's TechGen sheets.

What Do We Do

We provide an on going resource and information service through the secretariat based in Somerset. We promote the Industry through publicity and marketing programmes aimed at users and influencers to promote the overall image and uses of flexo together with its technological achievements.

We run an Annual Print Awards Competition culminating in a gala dinner in March that celebrates the excellence in flexographic printing.

We provide a structured programme of practical hands on training through residential courses at basic and advanced levels as well as In-house training that fits around tight production schedules. To this is added Train-the-Trainer, Lean Manufacturing, Flexo Master Class and The EFTA Challenge providing good all round training for the industry. We have commissioned a structured programme for the EFTA Academy covering all aspects of flexo printing that is the industry standard showing best practice procedures.

We co-present with FlexoTech Magazine, Seminars for the industry on burning topics of the day.

We have invested in a $2 Million project called FlexSys - an interactive simulation programme that can be programmed to a printer’s particular press showing how the press is performing and how it can be improved
